Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Romans 12:2 NIV

“If it costs you your peace, it costs too much.” (Anonymous)

Over the past few years there have been quite a few shows and movies that have come out that were on the top of the popular lists. If you’re someone that likes to watch television, a couple of things probably come to mind.

I’m one of those people that truly enjoys TV. I love to read and write and watch a good movie or show, so I get lots of recommendations from friends and family all the time. But, I seem to always run into someone telling me I just have to watch such and such show and when I explain that I prefer not to watch things of that nature, I usually end up having to defend myself. Just a few months ago I started a show and got a few episodes in when the Holy Spirit really started dealing with me. So I asked myself, “If Jesus was sitting on the sofa beside me, would I turn this show on?” The answer was no, and any episode I would have watched after that would have compromised my peace. To me, that isn’t a price I’m willing to pay.

Today, when you turn on your television, truly search for what that program glorifies. Everything glorifies something, and if it isn’t God, what is it? Are you willing to pay the price of peace?
