FEAR AND CONFUSION

By: Micaiah Wesler

…Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is nor yours, but God’s.’”

2 Chronicles 20:15 NKJV

King Jehoshaphat was up against a major wall. There was a multitude of people that came up against him in battle. He was going to be forced to lead Israel into battle against a group much larger than his. They sought the Lord and He replied, “Do not be led by fear and do not be confused. Don’t worry about it. I’ve got this.”

od was addressing the hearts of the Israelites first and the situation second. He directly called out fear and confusion. God knew that the Israelites were looking at the multitude and were afraid and confused as to whether God would come to their rescue or not. In the end, they trust the word of the Lord, and God wins the battle for them without them having to fight at all!

There are so many times when we feel the same way King Jehoshaphat did. Things can feel out of control and overwhelming at times. This is the place where fear and confusion love to try and creep in. With anything that we face, we know that we can be victorious if we put our trust in God. God is always saying the same thing to us as He said to King Jehoshaphat: “Do not be led by fear and do not be confused. Don’t worry about it. I’ve got this.”
