LEMONADE FRIENDS

By: Pastor Bobbi Morgan

I thank God every time I remember you.

Philippians 1:3 NIV

I can remember a time not too far back when I was driving home from a youth trip separate from the teens with a friend. We were very tired but excited from all the wonderful things we witnessed in the life of the young people we had just chaperoned. I was so confident in my travels home as we talked and laughed going our merry way that when I thought I was about an hour from home, I began to look at my surroundings and NOTHING looked familiar.

Where were we? Well, we were on the wrong highway going west, not north, and about two and a half hours from home. Yikes!!! My friend had such a positive attitude that she just chuckled and said, “Gives us more time to talk”.  We were finally on our way back home going down the highway where we were never supposed to be when my tire went flat.  A big chunk of metal had punctured my tire. Wow! Soon, we were sitting in a tire store waiting for the tire to be fixed and my “lemonade” friend is still smiling and encouraging me that “all is well”.

I was thankful for her instant lemons to lemonade response. During this month, I encourage you to find something different to be thankful for every day. Today I am thankful for friends who show me lots of grace, because I sure need it!!
