IN THE MIDDLE

Be strong. Take courage. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t give them a second thought because GOD, your God, is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you. He won’t let you down; he won’t leave you.

This song and scripture are so very personal to me. I have been in many seasons that I refer to as the “middle.” It’s a place that can at times be lonely, uncomfortable, and unwavering from one day to the next. I have always been the type of person that wants to create an atmosphere of peace and of love and of joy, but being in the middle season can drain you of that control. It’s in that moment, or that place of being uncomfortable, where I finally realized that although I may be in the middle of something that I cannot control, my Father has gone before me. This tells me that He has already made a way for me to come out of the middle. Let’s meditate on these lyrics for a minute:
CAN’T GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING,
CAN’T CONTROL WHAT TOMORROW WILL BRING.
BUT I KNOW HERE IN THE MIDDLE,
IS A PLACE WHERE YOU PROMISE TO BE.*
It's comforting to know that He is right here with me in the beginning, in the middle, and ahead of me preparing my path. The best part is the promise that He will never let me down and He will never leave me. If you are in the middle today, be encouraged! Know that your Heavenly Father is right there with you! Stand firm and know that He will never leave you!
