HONORABLE POSITION
By: Pastor Bobbi Morgan
Whoever brings blessings will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.
Proverbs 11:25 ESV
Chloe, our youngest child once said “Mom, you and Dad are the boss of the church, right?” To which I responded, “No, Chloe, we serve the church. We teach people to serve.” This statement literally made me shiver. I thought to myself, “God please let this be true.”
Being God’s servant is an honorable position. Throughout the New Testament the word “bondservant,” or servant, is applied to someone absolutely devoted to Jesus. Paul, Timothy, Jude, James, and Peter all describe themselves as “bondservants to Christ”. To be a servant of Christ is to seek His will in all things.
Lord, I pray that, as servants of Christ, our primary desire every day is to honor and glorify the One who bought us our freedom from sin (1 Corinthians 10:31) and to share this freedom with the world.
