WAIT... WHAT?

By: Jill Collins

Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value].

Colossians 3:2 AMP

We have so many distractions nowadays that take our focus off what is important right in front of us. In this crazy, fast-paced, convenient world we live in, we only have a few quiet moments to give up. Recently my daughter turned 18 and I wondered, “Where has the time gone? How did it just pass by so fast!”

But what about those moments of missing out on our Heavenly Father? Do you find yourself distracted while praying or reading the Bible, or even during worship? God wants all of our attention. He longs to spend time in fellowship with us. How can we get to know such an awesome God if we allow distraction to come in? We make intentional time to watch our favorite show or sports team—why can’t we be intentional in making time for our Heavenly Father? Let us be diligent in seeking the One who is our Redeemer and our Refuge.
