BUT THE SAME SPIRIT

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. …. But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirt dividing to every man severally as he will. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body. (1 Corinthians 12: 4-12 KJV)
And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healing, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. (1 Corinthians 12:28 KJV)
But covet earnestly the best gifts… (1 Corinthians 12:31 KJV)
One Sunday morning, the youth pastor and I were searching thru a bag of different sized rubber bands to find just the size to place on some cards to keep them from blowing away. That bag had many sizes, shapes, and colors, and all were useful and needed for the right purpose. Today, we needed the smallest.
I looked at him and said, “This pack of rubber bands reminds me of 1 Corinthians 12, one of my favorite books in the Bible.” It tells me there are many members to the body of Christ, and all of them are important.
Whatever my (and your) gifting or talent, we are needed to help make the Body whole.
