REALIGNMENT

By: Pastor Bobbi Morgan

People may be pure in their own eyes, but the Lord examines their motives.

Proverbs 16:2 NLT

Why do we do what we do? Is there an activity or belief you hold that began with all the right intentions, but the motivation has now become something else? It is easy to start out with great intentions, after all God has called us to do great things.  Over time our real motivations can become tainted. If your attitude had declined and your feelings are getting in the way, I encourage you today to take some time to reflect and confess. We don’t want to get weary in well doing. A dangerous assumption is that because our initial motivations were good, our motives will stay pure. This is not always the case.  I have to go to God often and be real with myself and Him. It is like the tires on our vehicle; when the tires are new and aligned we are driving straight, but soon we find ourselves in the tire store waiting for tires to be aligned. It is the bumps and potholes in life that can get us to the place where we need to check ourselves and be honest with God so He can put us back into proper alignment. I don’t know about you, but every now and then I need a course correction.

Blessings to all!
