GET OUT OF THE WAY
By: Jill Collins
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
Psalm 27:14 NIV
If I have learned anything in the past few years, it is to wait. But it is not easy, and I am not very good at it. I have been back and forth with questions and moments of “why?” In the same breath I say, “God you have this—I know you are working it out.” Then doubt and negativity come in asking, “Why is it taking so long?” It’s the negative talk that has me telling myself to get out of the way.
When we doubt or don’t trust in Gods process, it is like stepping on His toes or saying to Him, “I got this.” Jesus says in Matthew 19:26, “With man nothing is possible, but with God all things are possible.” We must remember His ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9), His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. We are reminded in Isaiah 40:31 that when we wait, our strength is renewed.
