FIGHT TO REMAIN FAMILY

By: Elle Buell

How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe.

Psalms 133:1-2 NIV

This is an election year. There is division happening all around us. One of the biggest issues I've faced lately is FIGHTING TO REMAIN FAMILY with those that I disagree with on various issues. This doesn't mean I'm "fighting" with them. It means I'm fighting "for" relationship with them. That usually means choosing not to be offended. Social media is a major contributor to this. I've spent weeks and weeks avoiding Facebook and Instagram and staying away from it altogether because it was so difficult to ignore some of the things I saw being posted by my friends and family and church family that I could easily become offended by. However, disagreeing does not mean we have to abandon unity!

The below video is from Catherine Mullins and her message is so simple and so clear: disagree but REMAIN FAMILY! If you've been struggling with this same issue, I hope you'll find hope and insight in this devotion from her. Let's all FIGHT TO REMAIN FAMILY!!
