WEEDS

By: Moriah Logsdon

“And don’t sin by letting anger control you. Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.”
‭‭
Ephesians‬ ‭4:26-27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We all have our own “triggers”. These are things that can cause us to be upset or angry. If there is something that triggers you and you put it to “rest” and never deal with it, it will creep back up! Every time you don’t pull out those little doubts and every time you think back to that moment or that event that makes you SO angry, you are basically watering that seed of bitterness to the point that now the trigger is so much easier to access.

Why do weeds grow bigger and faster than any plant you water and nourish and WANT to grow??? Because bad things spread so much faster and more wild than good things! Weeds even grow in places where they don’t belong, like gutters, a crack in concrete and many other unimaginable places. Maybe you’re feeling out of place in life because you’re not planting yourself in an environment that is healthy for your growth. What happens when you ignore all of the warning signs and keep letting your garden produce weeds? Then the little problems that could have taken a second to clear up, will take months to clear when you could have taken five seconds out of your day to pull that weed, effortlessly.

Sometimes it can seem like things are happening so much faster for others while you are trying your best to do right and still you feel stuck or not “growing.” What is it you are wanting to grow? Do you want everything you’ve planned for your life in YOUR timing? Are you pushing God’s timing and growing weeds? I trust that God can provide for you and me. I know He doesn’t give weeds, but gives a bountiful harvest! Let’s pull our spiritual weeds or “triggers” and plant peace and patience and His love into our hearts and minds.
