THIS BATTLE
By: Elle Buell
Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” All the men of Judah, with their wives and children and little ones, stood there before the Lord. Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Jahaziel son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite and descendant of Asaph, as he stood in the assembly. He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
2 Chronicles 20:12-15 NIV
It's been one week since we began an unforgettable election in our nation's history. There is still so much uncertainty about our future and about our nation, but there is one thing that remains certain yesterday, today and forever: God is still holy. I think it's interesting that the above passage says all the men of Judah stood before the Lord WITH their little ones and wives. It reminds me that when you are facing a battle, it's a family matter. When we bind together with our families in praise and prayer, there is power in our unity. The same is true of the family of the Body of Christ; there is power in our unity.
The video from Karen Wheaton below is such a timely word for the Body of Christ, for this nation, and maybe even for you individually. This is such an important reminder that the battle is NOT OURS... our battles belong to God. I hope you enjoy this and I hope it blesses you and encourages you the way it blessed me!
