SURVEY SAYS

By: Pastor Matt Morgan

A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart.

Proverbs 21:2 NIV

Jesus often said, “You’ve heard it said, but I say….” Evidently, there is a disparity between what God says and what we hear.

In 1891, Meades Ranch in Osborne County, Kansas, became the triangulation station for the whole United States. This is the reference point for all locations in the United States. This means that when you look at the survey of your property, it is referenced to Meades Ranch in Kansas. There is only one location that can truly and accurately keep us all within our boundaries.
God’s standard is God’s standard—it is not a standard that fits to our persuasions. We value our likes, dislikes, opinions, and orientations. Nonetheless, there is but one reference point. You may even choose to live outside of the boundaries, off the grid, but in the end, you will be brought back and judged by the standard that is God’s and God’s alone.

“Choose this day whom you will serve . . . But as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15b ESV)
