FAST DAY TWO
By: Pastor Matt Morgan
In order that no advantage be taken of us by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his schemes.
2 Corinthians 2:11 NAS
Why is it called “fast” when it’s obviously slow? I pray for your endurance today. Just remember, yesterday we read that Jehoshaphat set himself to seek the Lord (2 Chronicles 20:3). Instead of panic, he chose praise; instead of worry he resolved to worship. He sets himself, which means to confidently position oneself. He boxes out all other voices. His focus is vertical not horizontal.
The word “schemes,” or wiles, actually means strategized plans. Satan has been planning your destruction. Darkness is constantly encroaching upon us. Satan is a staging genius. If given the opportunity, he will create a hopeless situation with your imagination. Your thinking process can be held hostage by fears and anxiety. He loves to torment you. But, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Through Christ, it is he, who is set up for the upset! "No weapon formed against you shall prosper" (Isaiah 54:17).
