FASTING THROUGH DIFFICULTY
By: Pastor Matt Morgan
Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the LORD, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah.
2 Chronicles 20:3 NIV
Like Jehoshaphat, we have set ourselves to seek the Lord. We humble ourselves and pray. This approach, fasting and prayer, gets the attention of God. Behind the scenes, all things are working together for good (Romans 8:28). Remember, all things are "working" for good.
The workings of God are meant to surprise us with enlightenment, with wonder, and with joy. God is dynamic; He is not static. God is not common; He is uncommon. He will do well beyond what we could ever imagine.
When we fast, we are stripping ourselves of comfort and ease. We are proactively calling on God for signs and wonders. Actually, we are participating in our own deliverance. Our destiny is designed and our future is assured. Fasting is evidence of our confidence in God. So today, I am standing with you as we fast for breakthroughs.
