BE STILL

For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength. But you were unwilling.”
Isaiah 30:15 ESV
I love to set personal goals. I don’t know about you, but when I don’t meet the goals that I’ve set, I come up with a plan B or C so I can envision a future contrary to what I am currently seeing. I don’t mind cramming a puzzle piece where it doesn’t belong just so I can see my endgame. It just seems easier than “waiting on God.”
We often start feeling weak, restless, and powerless after SO MUCH WAITING, so we take matters into our own hands. We then end up with a misconstrued picture because we’ve made premature decisions based on our fear of being incomplete.
It’s been said, “Unoccupied time feels longer than occupied time.” DON’T try to paint your picture before God completes your masterpiece! I always want my time to be constructive.
If “your plan” doesn’t work and God is making a way for your specific plan, that doesn’t mean you're giving up; you’re just giving it to God. God’s outcome is usually more unexpected than what we could even begin to predict. God gives you STRENGTH to overcome what seems powerless when you fully put your trust in him. What weakness can you give to God in exchange for His strength today?
