STEP OUT

And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.”

Mark 16:15 NLT

For the last two and a half years I’ve been a stay-at-home mom. Each morning I wake up, cook, clean, take care of my children, do laundry, worry about tomorrow’s schedule, and so on. We go to bed and the next morning it happens all over again. I rarely leave the house, especially now with a three-month-old, so I therefore don’t run into many opportunities to be the hands and feet of Christ. So, I started praying that God would show me a way to serve Him in this season of life as a mother.

Wouldn’t you know it? He responded. His response? “Do something that is out of your comfort zone.” Yikes! I consider myself pretty backward and shy, and this was just not what I expected. I like being behind the scenes, but God was calling me to do something publicly. I felt the Spirit pushing me to do a “How Can I Pray For You,” post on social media, and to be honest, I fought it for a few hours. I posted it and truly felt like I was going to get sick, but then someone asked for specific prayer and I knew that it was all for that one moment. It was all for that person.

Today, ask yourself what you can do for God’s Kingdom. Ask God to show you something He needs from you. Ask Him to point you to the person that needs someone to be the hands and feet of Jesus today. How can you step out of your comfort zone?
