PRESSING ON

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast [or perseveres] under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
James 1:12 ESV
I had the privilege of getting to spend some extra time with my grandfather before he passed away several years ago. He had dementia, and these were precious moments that were fading away. He would always have an encouraging word for me.
I remember the last several visits I had with him he would talk about the word “perseverance.” Perseverance is defined as “persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.” You see, heaven was going to be his home, and he was leaning into this word perseverance for the patience he needed here on Earth while the Lord was still using him to speak into my life.
I encourage you today to “keep pressing on” despite the delays or the difficulties of this life because you never know how God will use YOU during the journey.
