GRATITUDE
By: Jill Collins
For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.
Romans 11:36 NLT
To quote Helen Keller, “So much has been given to me, I have no time to ponder over that which has been denied.” What a powerful statement! Helen Keller was blind; she never saw the sunlight, but she felt it on her skin. Likewise, she never looked outside to see the first winter snowfall, but I believe she felt it fall upon her face and tasted it on her tongue. She didn’t dwell on not “seeing” these things; instead, she used what she had—her other senses.
How many times have we focused on what we don’t have and not on what we do have? Just look around; God has given you so much, whether it be shelter, food, health, family or just simply waking up. Be grateful in all things. The Bible tells us to be thankful, cheerful, and praise with thanksgiving. When we start to walk in gratitude and thankfulness to our Creator, we can hold our heads a little higher.
