SHEPHERD KING

By: Tim & Cheri Henderson

He shall stand and feed His flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord His God ; and they shall abide, for now He shall be great to the ends of the earth…

Micah 5:4 NKJV

Christ’s reign in His church is that of a Shepherd-King. He does not sit on His throne aloof and arrogant, brandishing a royal scepter for show. Jesus, though King of Kings, does everything expected of a shepherd for His sheep: guiding, watching, preserving, restoring, tending, and feeding. When we bow our hearts to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords and give Jesus the place of royal authority and lordship in our lives, we can have the rest and peace that comes with knowing He is also our Good Shepherd. We can be still in knowing He is a loving protector who cares for us. Because we know we are loved by the Shepherd-King, we seek to build His kingdom, not ours. Let's do some building today! Be blessed and be a blessing to someone today!
