BE PRESENT

By: Pastor Bobbi Morgan

He says, “Be still and know that I am God.”

Psalms 46:10 NIV

Have you ever had a small child put their hand on the side of your cheek and gently push it to position your face directly in front of their face, as if to say, “Hey, listen to me?” I have often had to be reminded by my own children to “be present.”

Being present means to be focused and engaged with the person or task at hand. We live in a world that works against our being present in the moments of life. We are inundated with distractions and requests for our presence.

The verse “Be still and know that I am God,” says it best. The Hebrew word for “still” is “cease” or “cease striving.” We must remember to push the pause button and cast aside everything else to spend time in HIS presence. To be fully present in any situation, we must ask God to be present in our lives and to focus on His presence first. So I say to you today, “CEASE” and spend some time with the Lord today!
