WINNING IN LIFE
By: Pastor Matt Morgan
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
1 Corinthians 9:24 NIV
Winning is intentional. We've been conditioned to believe winning is optional, when in fact it is essential. Run to win.
Struggle develops strength—adversity will prove to be a promoter in time. The cross is an example of this. The death of Jesus was a glorious, counterintuitive example of winning. At that time, the world could not see it; but when it was finished, we were recipients of eternal life through the vicarious death of Jesus Christ. His reward was our redemption. The early Moravians said that we are the reward of His suffering.
Did you know that winning, just like losing, is a habit? This is why you can hire a winning coach for a losing team and they can win. Losers want winners to fail, but winners want losers to succeed. We don’t need the winning numbers for a lottery, we need the winning attitude for life. Ask God to help you win—then run as to win!
