PRIVACY
By: Pastor Brian Huff
For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.
Luke 12:2-3 NKJV
You know that the character of a man isn’t known when he is in a public place; his true character is known when he is alone, all by himself. Jesus taught in Mathew 6:5-6 that personal prayer is to be done in a private place. I personally love people. I love being in crowds. I have always loved interaction with new people. In contrast, I also love quiet time when nobody is around, and I can do whatever I really want to.
I said all that to build into this thought: privacy is territory. Privacy is under siege; God loves those moments when it’s just you and Him. Satan also loves the moments when it’s just you and him. God uses moments of solitude to speak to you with no distraction. Satan uses private moments as a breeding ground for disparity, depression, and even secret sin. God wants to be alone with you to speak life into you and to separate you from the world to give you new life. Satan wants to seclude you from life to steal your future.
If privacy is territory, it’s time to take it back! Let God speak in moments that you’re alone. Learn to know the voice of God versus the voice of your enemy. Win back your private time with God!
