THE STORM BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR DESTINY

By: Dina Boitnott

Then he entered the boat, and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a great storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep. His disciples went to him, saying, "Lord, save us! We are perishing!" He replied " Why are you fearful, O you if little faith?" Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea. And there was a great calm.

When he came to the other side into the country of Gergesenes, there met him two men possessed with demons, coming out of the tombs , and extremely fierce, so that no one might pass by that way. So the demons begged him, saying, " If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of swine." He said, "Go!"

Matthew 8:23-26;28; 31-32 MEV

Jesus was on his way across the sea to deliver men possessed by demons. A great storm arose to prevent him from fulfilling His purpose in that moment. Had they turned the boat around, those demoniacs may never have been freed.

Jesus chose not to give into fear, but to speak to the storm and continue on His way deeper into His purpose. Not all storms are a sign that you're in the wrong place. Maybe it's a storm you're called to speak to—on the other side could be part of your calling.

Remember what Pastor Matt says: Your storm knows your voice.
