I FORGOT

Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.

Mark 4:15 NIV

As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. Hold on to the word you have received! Jesus tells us the parable of the sower in which seeds fall in various places. Some fell along the path where the birds ate them, some on rocks where they could not get rooted, some in thorns where they got choked out, and lastly, some fell in good soil.

Sometimes we are along the path, we have the word in our heart but then Satan comes and takes it away. Other times we are the good soil, soaking it all up and keeping it in our hearts. Ever notice sometimes when someone asks you about the sermon and you can’t remember, but you remember the flickering light from the phone on the seat next to you. Satan comes to steal the word from our hearts and distract us from what God has for us. So how do we fix that? Be intentional, take notes, pray and ask God to help you retain His word. Let us not forget His benefits (Psalms 103:2)!
