James 1:19 NASB
This scripture has become one of my most favorite. It’s very direct and easy to understand. With that being said, by no means is it easy to follow. This scripture teaches a lesson that takes daily practice. By not thinking before I speak, I have gotten myself into more trouble than I can count and being slow to anger is not my strong suit. As humans it's very easy to overshare our opinions. Pride is destruction. But thank You, Jesus for your continued grace over my life.
I love these little life lessons that the Book of James is full of. I encourage you to read all four chapters of this Book. Its life changing and full of wisdom.
Jesus, help me keep this scripture close to my heart. Help me to a good listener and to not always have to speak my opinions. I ask you to slow my anger in every situation and to think before I speak. Thank you for loving enough to teach me the hard things. I love you, Jesus. Amen.
