PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
By: Pastor Matt Morgan
May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, And fulfill all your purpose.
Psalm 20:4 NKJV
If you are going to be successful, you are going to have to overcome risk, embarrassment, and criticism. Risk is the price for success. Embarrassment is the price for boldness. Criticism is the price for leadership.
Aristotle said, “If you want to avoid criticism, say nothing, do nothing, be nothing.” We live in a hostile world, and like crabs in a bucket, people will continually try to bring you down. You will always be the subject of criticism, no matter who you are.
Criticism is the easiest thing to do. It is not difficult to point out the weeds in my neighbor's yard; it is difficult to pull the weeds out of my own. Don’t allow criticism to stop or impede your progress. Go beyond the chatter. If you get caught up in hurt or offense, your progress stops there. You will end up nursing and rehearsing things that are of no value to your destiny. Don’t allow negativity to sidetrack you. Ask God to advise you and the Holy Spirit to guide you.
If you have run with the footmen and they have wearied you, how will you contend with the horses? (Jeremiah 12:5 NKJV)
Knowing that natural men will never understand supernatural direction, your trust must be in God!
May He grant you according to your heart’s desire, And fulfill all your purpose.
