FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT

By: Tim & Cheri Henderson

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

2 Corinthians 10:3-4 NIV

Are you overwhelmed, grieved, or horrified by the argumentative, perverse, or negative things you see being reported in the news? Are you facing battles in your own personal life with health, finances, children, co-workers, customers? Two of the chief rules of military warfare are:

1. Know your enemy
2. Know your weapons

Our battles are not with flesh and blood. Flesh and blood may be people ignorantly used as tools in the battle, but there is an enemy wielding those tools who has come to steal, kill and destroy... you and them.

We fight in another dimension through prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit, "casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV). We fight in another dimension and our fighting is not weak; it is powerful. It wins, it succeeds, it is mighty!

What is of God will be opposed by the enemy. You are of God. That which is good is worth fighting for. Fight the good fight, and you will prevail. Our God reigns!
