COMFORT

By: Pam Gray

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. (Matthew 5:4 KJV)

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. (John 14:16-17 KJV)

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirt of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me. (John 15:26 KJV)

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. (John 16:7 KJV)

In our faith walk, there will be times that we mourn—the loss of a loved one on earth; loss of a marriage; loss of a job; loss of a friendship; loss of what might have been. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells us that when we mourn we will be comforted. There is no question of this—we will mourn and we will be comforted. Let us not forget, the Holy Spirit lives in us. Allow Him to comfort you in your time of need.
