TIME TO BE WISE

Listen to counsel, receive instruction, and accept correction, that you may be wise in the time to come.
Proverbs 19:20 AMP
What is the secret to living a successful life? Today, we are not gonna have the discussion about what you define as success. We are going to talk about three distinct habits that will lead you into a successful life.
1. Listen to Counsel. This may be hard to do at times, but the Bible says that there is safety in a multitude of counsellors. Someone (that you trust) may be able to see things that you can’t. So don’t be afraid to ask advice from people with true wisdom
2. Receive Instruction. I hope and pray that you never outgrow the ability to learn from others. I try my best to always stay in a place of humility, where I can grow through the knowledge and wisdom of others.
3. Accept Correction. I hate messing up. All the way back to when I was a kid, any time I got in trouble I would almost blackout. My whole body would tingle and I would get a huge lump in my throat. I honestly hate disappointing people of authority in my life. With that in mind, I also never want to create animosity by being so defensive I can’t be corrected. If you are a person under authority, know that you can stunt your growth by pushing back. Be receptive, evaluate, grow.
May God bring you into a season of wisdom. Practice these three habits and you will have a truly successful life.
