PRESENT TENSE JESUS
By: Pastor Matt Morgan
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1 ESV
Jesus never started being God, He always was and is. Hebrews 13:8 tells us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever! So the One who healed blind eyes yesterday can heal blind eyes today . . . for any sickness or any ailment He is more than an antidote, He is the cure. He is more than a repellent, He is the remedy.
By the time you read this, many things will be outdated. If you don’t believe me, look up my number in the phone book and call me, if it’s not long distance! Phone book? Long distance?
It is so good to know that in a world that is rapidly changing there is One Who does not change. From climate to currencies, technology to terminology, everything seems to change, yet He remains the same.
Let this thought comfort you today: He does not change with change. He is constant, He is stable, and He is able! Jesus is immutable! Not only is He here now, he was there then—through every disappointment, every hurt, and every failure. He doesn’t love us because we are perfect, He loves us despite our imperfections. In word or deed today, let Jesus know how thankful you are that He is here now!
